I'm the one behind the lens at Pickett Perfect, and as a mom of twins, I'm pretty great at remaining calm (even when it's a bit chaotic)—it's a skill that I bring to every photo session.
I like to think of our sessions as a way to elevate authentic moments. I will prepare for different lighting scenarios, I'll suggest colors and patterns in your outfits that look cohesive, and I'll handle the posing suggestions and prompts, so you don't feel uncomfortable or stiff in front of the camera. Those are the planned things, but that's not the goal of what I want to capture.
I want to capture the belly laughs that your 2 year old gives when we tell him to do a funny pose. I want to capture the pure joy in mom's eyes when the whole family snuggles in close and almost knocks her over with how much they love her. I want to get that shot of dad's real smile, not the one he does when you tell him to "say cheese". Embrace the understanding that while things may not go exactly as planned, they will be Pickett Perfect—which is even better.
When you choose me as your photographer, know that you and your family will be treated with an abundance of care and patience. While I specialize in capturing new parents, newborns, and families, everyone is welcome. This experience is designed to be enjoyable. A little about me
Proudly based in southeast Michigan, I'm a wife, a mom of twins, and I love connecting with other moms!
I got married to my husband, Rodney, in 2016. Our wedding hashtag, #PickettPerfect, stuck with me, and it became the name of my photography business.
If you're thinking about working with me, I want you to know that I have lots of patience, and I treat every client like a friend. Low pressure, low stress – that's my goal for every session. Whether it's a mama-to-be glowing in a maternity session, or a family with toddlers running the show, I'm here to capture those special, moments.
Random fun fact: In middle school, I accidentally signed up for a moonwalking competition (I thought it was a moon bounce!) Long story short, I had to moonwalk on stage in front of everyone. I was so bad that everyone cheered just to encourage me and I ended up winning a CD with all of Michael Jackson's greatest hits. I've been a huge MJ fan ever since. Don't be surprised if a little MJ shows up on a playlist during our session. Hee Hee!

I love being in nature. I grew up with a family of morel mushroom hunters and you could always find me walking through trails. I love taking my clients to see beautiful paths and places they may have not known about!

We loved our photo session with Kim. We booked a newborn shoot where she came to our house and it included my husband and I, our new baby, our toddler, and our dog! Kim handled the chaos wonderfully. She was great with the baby and knew how to have fun with our wild toddler. She made me feel very comfortable and at ease as I had to breastfeed mid session. The pictures she took turned out amazing! She got amazing shots and we are so grateful. Highly recommend Kim!

Kim recently did our maternity photos and they turned out incredible! She was extremely thorough and made she we got all of the shots we wanted with multiple different backgrounds to allow for the best outcome. There ended up being so many amazing shots that we purchased an additional 20 photos because we couldn't narrow it down! When I say she's awesome, I promise you that you won't be let down. Kim is so easy to work with and makes you feel very comfortable in front of the camera. Can't wait for our newborn photos up next!

Kim photographed my family - grandparents included and we could not have been happier with the images we received! She captured our family perfectly and with 3 little ones under 5, that’s a challenge for anyone; except Kim!
She was so professional and courteous through the entire process from booking to outfit selection to picture day all the way until we received out photographs.
We will be using her year after year to capture our most beautiful family memories!

We absolutely love Kim! I have two young boys and she is able to capture their individual personalities and get the best smiles out of them. She’s open to individual ideas if you have something you want to try in pictures but at the same time guides you if you have no idea what you want. We’ve used Kim twice now for pictures and look forward to the third, fourth and fifth time. I could not recommend her enough!

I had my maternity pictures taken by Kim. She was incredibly easy to work with from the start. Kim was very flexible with scheduling and took absolutely gorgeous pictures. I got to be a part of a lovely event with other mamas to be and it was so great! Would highly recommend her for any and all photography needs!!
